# Postion Information
## Summary of Duties
Under the administrative direction of the Manager of the Dining Services facility, the Food Service Associate Manager ensures clean, efficient, friendly and courteous service. Provides immediate supervision and administrative support for Southside Cafe. Responsible for providing direct supervision to employees, to include hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating and disciplining employees. Responsible for maintenance, and troubleshooting the integrated cash register system. Contributes to a positive, productive, and harmonious work environment. Must possess a general understanding that Dining Services is an evolving ever-changing operation designed to react to trends and new information to meet and exceed our guests’ expectations.

## Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant administration, institutional management, business administration or closely related field and two (2) years of supervisory/management experience which included planning and budgeting. Additional qualifying food service work experience and/or vocational training in quantity food preparation may be substituted, year-for-year, for college education.
## Additional Requirements

Strong Leadership Skills, Organizational Abilities, And Supervisory Experience.Previous experience supervising in multi-unit operations that reflect operational depth and breadth in scope and concept, or equivalent education/experience.
Experience developing and maintaining operational policies and procedures.
Experience administering budgets, monitoring expenses, ensuring equipment maintenance and maintaining inventories.
Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid Driver’s License.
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 14 days of employment, a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
## Preferred Qualifications
Experience in University dining operations, including retail and board operations.
Experience with a scheduling software system, to manage and maintain work schedule for 150+ employees.
Experience with When-To-Work scheduling software.
Experience with Point of Sale System to accurately track sales data.
Experience with Micros POS and My Micros Sales Reporting tool.
Qualified applicants for this position will be team players, possess excellent customer service skills, and remain calm under pressure.
Experience managing bargaining unit employees.
Previous experience managing or supervising and training a large, diverse staff.
Experience with labor cost controls.
Strong communication skills.
Strong demonstrated computer knowledge.
